Guest Speakers:

Nikki Fried, FL Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Darren Soto, U.S. Congressman

Commissioner Nikki Fried was born and raised in Miami and graduated from the University of Florida, where she received her bachelor’s, master’s and Juris doctor degrees. While at the University of Florida, she served as student body president – the first woman to hold the position in nearly two decades. As an attorney, she worked for a Public Defender’s office, with law firms as a government consultant, and ultimately formed her own firm. Fried has long been a passionate activist. She is currently the only elected Jewish Democrat in the state of FL and the first woman to hold that position.

Congressman Darren Soto is the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 9th District, a vast area including Orlando and southward. Prior, he served 4 years in the FL Senate and 5 years in the FL House. The first Floridian of Puerto Rican descent to serve in Congress, he currently serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the House Committee on Natural Resources. Additionally, Darren is a proud member of numerous caucuses. Soto received his B.A. from Rutgers University and his law degree from George Washington University.

We plan to have some Purim fun, too. Come in costume? Bring a grogger!! When we hear the dreaded names of DeSantis, Rubio or Scott we will make noise!
